GOING DEEPER WITH THE TAI CHI 24 FORM
In-person workshop in Asheville, NC
In support of our Asheville and Western North Carolina community, this workshop will be offered free-of-charge.
All levels of experience are welcome. Beginners will learn about the essential elements of Tai Chi, including tips to improve physical balance and relaxation. Intermediate and Advanced practitioners (including Tai Chi instructors) will have the opportunity to deepen and refine the practice of this aesthetically beautiful and powerful mind-body art.
The Tai Chi 24 form (AKA “24 Step Simplified Yang Style Taijiquan”) is primarily based upon the Traditional Yang Style Long Form, and is regarded as the most popular and widely practiced form in the world. The movements are slow, soft, and expansive. This form cultivates relaxation, balance, strength, flexiblity, and mind-body awareness. While all levels of experience are welcome, the workshop is most appropriate for individuals with previous experience with this form or other forms related to the Yang style. The entire Tai Chi 24 form will be reviewed and practiced, with emphasis upon Tai Chi fundamental principles and posture refinement. In this workshop, there will be plenty of time devoted to movement. And we will move together in the spirit of play, curiosity, and joy!
The workshop will include:
☯️ The origin of the Tai Chi 24 Form

☯️ Posture* instruction
☯️ Time for movement flow
☯️ Questions and answers
*In the lexicon of Tai Chi, a “posture” is an individual movement that comprises part of an entire form. A “form” consists of a standardized sequence of postures.
