The Word for Today is “Temporocentrism”

The word for today is "temporocentrism", which can be translated as the belief that our current time is more special or significant than the past or future. We hear people say things such as, "A major shift is happening", "Consciousness is evolving to a higher level", etc. In fact, everything has always been changing. Temporocentrism can be a reflection of egocentrism, ego inflation, and the wish to be "special". On the other hand, it makes sense that many people view our current time as being more significant than any other time; it's the only time there is—now. How do you choose to inhabit this precious moment of time? It's nothing special, although it's a gift.
